It's definitely not a feel-good ending. So many complicated and uncomfortable feelings--sadness, shame, worry about the future of humanity--it's all there. Although Mikasa summoned strength greater than her love for Eren to save humanity, we see that, many years later, humanity has found other things to fight about. The ending is complex and artistically beautiful (I love the tree, for example) and about the pitiful shortcomings not just of Eren but of us all.
